Year 6 Residential 3 rd October 2016 – 5 th October 2016 Marchants Hill

Day of Departure: Monday 3 rd October to Wednesday 5 th October Pupils Arrive at school as normal with their luggage The Coaches will leave school at 11.30am Pupils Marchants Hill at appox 1pm

Accommodation Pupils will either be in rooms that sleep 4 or 6. Girls and boys dorms are on separate floors. 10pm curfew / Nightly patrols Pupils need to take responsibility for their rooms / belongings AT NO POINT WILL ANY CHILD BE LEFT ON THEIR OWN IN THEIR ROOM

Mealtimes 3 meals a day Always a vegetarian choice / Halal meat available Fresh soup / salad bar available for lunch and dinner

Activities 12 Activities over the 2 days The children will be in groups of Staff member and trained PGL staff with each group at all times They will be told their groups the week before the trip

What to bring Enough clothes for 4-5 days Towel for wet activities / showering etc Clothing should be suitable for the outdoors – no designer clothes! Black bags for wet / dirty clothes LABEL ALL CLOTHES Put clothes for specific activities into carrier bags, labelled with the activity they are for. Footwear – 2 pairs of trainers for activities; footwear to wear indoors Disco???

What to bring continued…. Bedding – Sleeping bag and pillow Toiletries Drinks bottle / small rucksack / small torch Woollen hat / Gloves Packed lunch for Monday £5.00 in a labelled envelope or purse – handed to the group leader in the morning of departure NO mobile phones

Medication All prescription medication needs to be labelled with child’s name and group letter All medication should be placed in a zip lock bag, labelled with child’s name, group and group leader name. Handed in to the group leader on the morning of the trip

Snacks Please send NO more than 3 snacks with your child such as cereal bars, mini cheddars, flap jacks, chocolate covered biscuits etc. Any extra snacks or unhealthy snacks will be confiscated and not returned.

Rules and Sanctions Children will be expected to: Follow all the rules of the centre. Be on their best behaviour at all times. Listen to and showing respect to all adults. Follow the instructions closely at each activity. - This is especially important as it is a ‘Safety Issue’. Failure to do so may result in you missing an activity or in an extreme case, parents being called to come and collect you.

Rules continued… Respect your peers personal property and space. Respect the other schools that are there at the same time. Keep your belongings and room tidy. You are responsible for your belongings and actions. 10pm Curfew – Repeated infringements will result in children missing an activity. No electronic games No cell phones. No Jewellery except stud earrings - Watch only

Updates… You will receive an /text from the school office every day at approximately 4.30pm. You will receive a text on with our expected arrival time back at school on Wednesday 5 th October.
