College Tuition Program for Louisiana graduates attending a Louisiana Post Secondary School. Class requirements (LA Core 4), GPA Requirements, ACT Score Requirements) Decision made in February of 10 th Grade year

Health– ½ Unit PE– 1 ½ Units Electives– 8– Including Journey to Careers and an Area of Concentration
End of Course Testing: Replaces the GEE for 9 th graders of Students must pass 3 EOC tests to graduate: English II or English III Algebra I or Geometry Biology or American History
If a student pursues the Basic Core– they must complete an Area of Concentration. An Area of Concentration is a grouping of classes which should lead to Post Secondary. LaSAS offers the following Areas of Concentration: Agriculture Production and Management, Animal Science, Horticulture, Advanced Studies, Child Development, Welding
7th grade test has 4 parts: ELA-- multiple choice, constructed response, and writing an essay Math--multiple choice, constructed response Science & Social Studies--multiple choice only Students are not required to achieve a certain score to be promoted to next grade, but scores are a measure of student's progress from one grade to the next. Scores are also factored into the LaSAS school performance score. Online practice is available at
English/Math– 1 Basic, 1 Approaching Basic Science/Social Studies– no requirements When Scores are received, we will send them home that afternoon. Please do not call for scores, we cannot release them over the phone. Students will be retained if they do not meet minimum standards. They are allowed to retest in the Summer. Summer Remediation will not be here– will be at the 3 High Schools.
AR tests in every ELA/Reading class. 3 books per 6 weeks. Homework includes reviewing daily notes. Bell Ringers in every class, every day. Encourage your child to use their planner. PASS Grades– must have 8 points to pass each class.
Supervised Ag Experience records due at the end of March– 150 pt. grade 3 Items: Record Sheet, Pictures and 1-2 page report.
