2 Courses of Study There are four courses of study- 1. Career Prep: for students planning to enter the workforce or military after high school graduation 2. College Tech Prep: for students planning to attend technical programs such as those offered at a community college or to enter the military after high school graduation.

3 Courses of Study Continued 3. College/University Prep: for students planning to attend a four-year college or university after high school graduation 4. Occupational: for students with Individual Education Plans (IEP)

5 Requirements Core Classes- 4 English Credits 4 Math Credits 4 History Credits 3 Science Credits Other Requirements- Health/PE: 1 Credit *The rest of your credits vary by course of study. Check the document ‘JSHS Course of Study Graduation Requirements’ to see the other classes you need. Total: 25 Credits to graduate

6 Requirements Continued 4 CTE Pathways (Same pathway with 1 class in a level II) = Career Tech Prep 4 JROTC, 4 Art, or 4 Band = Career Tech Prep 2 foreign language + 4 CTE Pathways = College Prep 2 foreign language (same language) = College/University Prep

7 Occupational Prep Occupational English I, II, III, IV Occupational Intro to math, Occupational Algebra I, Occupational Financial Management. Occupational Applied Science, Occupational Biology. Government/U.S. History, and Self-Advocacy/Problem Solving. Health/PE: 2 Credits OCS Prep I-IV and Portfolio Additional Credits to be determine with your counselor.

8 Core Classes In order to graduate you must pass certain core classes- English or Honors English I, II, III, IV Math I, Math II, Math III, and one advanced level math course (Discrete, Advanced Functions, Pre- Calculus, and AP Calculus). Physical Science (could be Physical Science or Chemistry), Biology, and Earth/Environmental Science. World History, Civics and Economics, American History I and II.
