1 Current Juniors Planning and Scheduling for the 2018-2019 school year!
YOU’RE GOING TO BE A SENIOR!

2 What you HAVE to take….. Math
If in functions & spatial sense, you MUST take Algebra II for seniors next year (MALG2S) If you are in algebra II, you will take advanced math, statistics (CCP option), or functions & trigonometry If you are in advanced math, you can take statistics or calculus If you are in honors advanced math, you can take statistics (CCP option), calculus or AP calculus Write this in NOW and talk to your current math teacher! You NEED 4 years of math to graduate and 1 must be algebra II.

3 Write this in NOW and talk to your current science teacher!
What you HAVE to take….. Science Marine Science (formerly Biology II) Anatomy (college credit option, too) Physics (must have had chemistry this year) AP Biology (recommended to have already passed chemistry) Chemistry (may take up 2 periods on your schedule) MW or TTH lab Must be in at least algebra II to take chemistry You need 3 science credits (physical science, life science, and advanced science) to graduate high school. Write this in NOW and talk to your current science teacher!

4 Write this in NOW and talk to your current Social studies teacher!
What you HAVE to take …… Social Studies Psychology AP Psychology AP Government AP United States History Western Civilization World Geography & Issues You have to have 3 social studies credits to graduate must be American History -.5 must be American Government Write this in NOW and talk to your current Social studies teacher!

5 Write this in NOW and talk to your current English teacher!
What you HAVE to take….. Language Arts English 12 College Writing 1 & 2 (2 hs credits, CCP – must be accepted into Kent) AP Literature & Composition You must have 4 credits of English to graduate. Write this in NOW and talk to your current English teacher!

6 Physical Education If you haven’t taken 2 PE classes, you need to complete that NOW! If you haven’t fulfilled 2 PE waivers, you need to do another waiver or take gym Individual Sports or Team Sports (optional) We do NOT have summer gym Sports conditioning does NOT count as a physical education credit PE does not count for athletic eligibility bc only .25 credits

7 Other Requirements If you haven’t taken health yet, you MUST sign up for it. If you did not take financial literacy, you MUST sign up for it.

8 Foreign Language Do you need a foreign language to graduate? NO
How many years of a foreign language do you need for college? 3-4 years….colleges recommend 3-4, but do not require it If you are in a language now and are getting a D or F, you should not take the next level

9 Electives English – speech/debate, creative writing (1 & 2), young adult literature, Senior Seminar Foreign language – French, Spanish Business – business foundations, web design, computer apps, business administration, digital marketing & management, medical terminology (CCP), accounting 1 & 2 Sports conditioning, Individual Sports, Team Sports Engineering 1, 2, & 3, Intro to Industrial Tech, Woodworking, Construction Vo Ag – Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources (Ag 1), Agriculture & Mechanics (Ag 2), Animal & Plant Science, Crop Science & Natural Resources, AG 3, AG 4, Ag Bus 1 or 2 CBI – Career Based Instruction

10 Electives Warrior Grill Survival for Singles
Interior Design & Clothing Creative Cooking (2nd year of Warrior Grill) 2nd semester only Child Development (formerly Parenting) Foundation of Art, Computer Graphics, Drawing, Painting Band, Choir, Theater, Jazz Ensemble

11 Daily Schedule You have 7 periods to fill for the school day.
You can NOT have more than 1 study hall. You do not have to report during INVEST next year – unless grades are bad or you are credit deficient If you fail a core class needed for graduation, you MUST complete it during summer school or you will repeat it in the regular classroom oR Warrior Academy next year.

12 So, How Many Classes Can I Take?
Period 1 – Study Hall Period 2 – Math Period 3 – Science (optional) Period 4 – Social Studies (optional) Period 5 – Language Arts Period 6 – Your Choice Period 7 – Your Choice Period 8 – Your Choice

13 Honors Diploma – can be exempt from 1 item on this list
4 English 4 Math (1 must be algebra II) 4 Science (2 must be advanced) 4 Social Studies 3 year of same foreign language or 2 years each of 2 languages 1 fine art 27 on ACT 3.5 GPA

14 Presidential Award Same as Honors, but you have to meet all the criteria (can’t be exempt from one) ACT is a 25, not a 27

15 Check Your Transcripts!
