CASE 3: Multistory Building VIA University CollegeTCU-VIA Workshop – A20164 Wooden elements External walls made out of wood normally consist of a frame with insulation between the studs. Inside with a dpm and a covering consisting of boards. Examples of internal cladding fixed from the factory could be: Wood wool cement boards Plywood Plasterboard Fibergypsum board Hardboard Chipboard Furring for later fixing of boards after erecting the facade elements The choice of boards will depend of different factors. It could be fire-, moisture-, stability-, or sound. CASE 3: Multistory Building VIA University CollegeTCU-VIA Workshop – S20168 Roof elements Wooden element What is a roof element? It is a prefabricated building component with semi finished roof, insulation and finished ceiling. Where is it used? Very often used for industrial-, office-, and dwelling buildings. Wooden roof elements can be used at all roof angles or produced with the slope from the factory. VIA / TCU 5th semester workshop A2016
CASE : Multistory Building VIA University CollegeTCU-VIA Workshop – A20169 Roof elements Damp proff membranes Unventilated roof elements is much more sensitive for the moisture condition when building. If a Hygrodiode membran is used as dpm any moisture in the element will be driven to the dpm where it condensates if the sun shines. Remember that the consultants must secure that no moisture will enter into the element while mounting. You must describe to: - Deliver the elements with the first layer of bitumen fixed. -Place a bitumen felt strip following the mounting sequence -During night seal the elements HygrodiodePVC-foil VIA / TCU 5th semester workshop A2016
