The NUSA day  8.40 – first bell, pupils should be moving to tutor time  8.45 – tutor time begins  9.00 – period 1 lesson  9.45 – period 2 lesson  – period 3 lesson  – break time  – period 4 lesson  – period 5 lesson  1.00 – lunch time  1.45 – period 7 lesson  2.30 – period 8  3.15 – extra curricular activities Punctuality – set the tone for the day

Attendance, punctuality & absence  100% attendance is vital in ensuring your child achieves their potential.  Contact Tracy Aldridge – attendance officer if there are any issues  Provide notes to tutors on return from absence  Holidays within school time will not be authorised  The school does support the city policy on fining for attendance and punctuality issues.

Uniform, including PE kit  Correct uniform and PE kit are expected at all times.  Uniform orders need to be completed ASAP – See Mr Derrick  Additional ordering and needs to be done through the website  If a pupils is missing an item of uniform or kit they will be required to borrow. Please send a note.  Issues will be followed up though tutor and assistant head of year. No tube or lycra skirts One set of silver or gold studs Natural and discreet Make up Nail varnish not permitted Heel no bigger than 5CM

Basic equipment  Pupils are expected to arrive at school ready to learn  Pen, pencil, rubber etc  School bag – no handbags  Planner  PE kit  Homework Lockers  Pupils will have the chance to have a school locker  This will involve giving a deposit for the key  It will the their locker alone  It should be regularly and well maintained

Contacting school  Please make sure contacting the school comes through the school reception  Please do not contact pupils by mobile phones directly as this can cause a range of issues  Staff will always try and return calls as soon as possible  Please ensure that YOUR contact details are accurate on our system Mobile phones  Can be used in school only at break and lunch times in mobile friendly zones such as the restaurant.  Appropriate use of phones is important  Should be turned off and in their bag during lessons  If out in lesson will be confiscated till the end of the day
