Honey Bees By Parker Johnson

Where Bees Live/ Ability to Adapt The honey bees is a very widespread insect Sadly it is endangered Humans are the main problem Bees adapt well and can live in most area

What Bees Do/ Predator and Prey Relationship The bees go out and collect nectar Then bees place the nectar in combs Predator: birds, small mammals, larger insects, bears Prey: flowers/ plants and small insects

Reproduction of Bees Queen bees and drone bees lay eggs Bees are born a lot like how caterpillars change into butterflies

What Bees Eat/ Producer or Consumer Bees don’t eat lots of different kinds of food There diet consists mostly of nectar, pollen, flowers, water, smaller insects and honey Bees are a 1 st level producer

Human Interactions/How many are left We as humans are the biggest threat to bees We are destroying their homes The bee population has been decreasing by 80%

Biotic, Abiotic, and Limiting Factors Biotic: plants and animals in there habitats Abiotic: water, temperature, food, soil, and sunlight Limiting: weather, space, water, food

Fun facts about Bees Bees have four wings that flap furiously making the buzzing noise Nectar is a sweet liquid tucked in the flowers pedals Bees can wiggle there hind ends because of their narrow waist called pedicles If the military tried to build a helicopter that could do all the things bees can it couldn’t fly due to the weight Bees dance to tell where a flower patch is place the nectar in Combs

Why is a Honey Bee a Butterfly Species? A prediction was made by Albert Einstein that if all the bees died within the next four years the human race would follow.
