2 Fun Facts The fin whales nick name is the Razor Back They are hunted for oil, meat, and baleen Fin whales mostly eat krill The Fin Whale’s gestation takes 11 months Fin Whale calves can be about 20 feet long

3 Habitat and Reproduction The Fin Whale lives in the open ocean. The Fin Whales Mate in the winter and gestation takes about 11 months.

4 Diet, Predator/Prey, Level in ecosystem The Fin Whale’s diet mostly consists of krill. It is at the top of the food chain. The fin Whale is at the 3 rd level in its ecosystem.

5 Threats, limiting factors, Population Whaling is a major threat to the Fin Whale Limiting factors are weather, space, food, and water There are about 1678 Fin whales left

6 Adaptations and Biotic/Abiotic factors The Fin Whale evolved from hooved mammals like Cows, Camels, and Sheep about 45 million years ago. Abiotic Factors are sunlight, water, air, sand, and dirt. Biotic factors are the Fin Whale, Krill, algae, fish, grass and more.

7 Why the Fin Whale is a Butterfly Species. The Fin Whale is a butterfly species because if they were extinct all of the Krill population would overpopulate and the Krill wouldn’t have enough food.
