The Year in Review Sweetwater Union High School District School Board approves LCAP Implementation of LCAP for Fall semester District consults with stakeholders; presents to advisory groups for review and comment; and prepares an update of the LCAP. Revisions are made and the plan is presented for public comment. The LCAP is presented to stakeholders and school board for public comment June 2014 July –Dec 2014 May 2015 June 2015 Jan-Apr 2015 LCAP is adopted by the Sweetwater Union High School District Board of Trustees and submitted to the County Office of Education (COE) and the State of California for approval

Updating the LCAP Focus on Data The local needs (YOUR STORY) must drive plan goals, actions, and activities Stakeholder Engagement Builds understanding of requirements, facilitates implementation and secures support for, and ownership of, improved student outcomes Measuring Progress A continuous cycle of reflection, adaptation and growth will lead to improved results

Focus on Data (YOUR STORY) A robust needs assessment is the foundation of an effective LCAP... is the first critical step in the LCAP update process... will provide student performance data... will identify the actual needs of the students and any deficiencies... should be used to develop strategies to address identified deficiencies... should determine priorities, as all strategies cannot be implemented at once... should be completed prior to starting the engagement process... should be used to solicit input from stakeholders

A single year of data does not establish a trend Making program and service decisions based on a single year of data could result in unnecessary redirection of resources Having trend data will help identify areas of need and facilitate effective resource allocation Present data for multiple years for your school site and by subgroup Hold stakeholder meetings with data to lead to a focused and productive discussion Be strategic in selecting what and how information is shared with your stakeholders to avoid stakeholder exhaustion and disappointment Use YOUR STORY to identify areas with significant gaps If the data shows a significant gap in achievement for any subgroup in any area, ensure that these areas are priorities and identify actions to address these deficiencies Trends Accessibility Achievement © 2015 School Services of California, Inc. CIS Feedback on LCAP We are going to ask that each CIS, for the next two months, provides SSC agenda time to address the update to the LCAP with your SSC committee. We will provide you with a Powerpt for you to use with stakeholders at your site. You can update data provided to include your site data if applicable. Please take the survey provided in the CIS Canvas course during the next week (Due: February 20 th ). It will take you approximately 1 hour to provide quality feedback.
