 Public speaking is a very important life skill.  Public speaking is important for your career development and business growth.  It can also help improve your relationships with family and friends. Public speaking is a skill worth learn. Why we should learn about public speaking

Public speaking is one of the most challenging skill faced by college students

The purpose of this PowerPoint is to review the steps to improve body language when face with public speaking and provide the steps to communicate effectively.

 Facial expressions  Eye contact  Tone of Voice  Posture  Nonverbal Signals  Body movement

Facial expressions: The facial expressions should be natural and friendly.

Eye contact: Eye contact is very important when speaking to an audience but you do not need to focus on one person.

Tone of Voice : When Speaking, it is very important to focus on Your tone of voice. Ones voice can tell the audience your mood which could range from enthusiasm to disinterest to anger.

Posture: Stand straight and relaxed, but don't put your hands in your pockets.

Nonverbal Signals: Nonverbal Signals are very important: Important information can be pass on to the audience through gestures, eye contact, posture, tone of voice and body movements.

Body movement: Body movement is very important to keep audience's attention. Move forward to emphasize a point, move side to side to indicate a transition gesture, move your head up and down to indicate importance or acknowledgement, use pen or pointer to indicate a part or place on a presentation.

Ways to Improve Your Presentation Skills:  Prepare yourself  Use Visual Aid  Dress appropriately  Relax

Prepare yourself: Try to practice the presentation in front of a mirror, your colleagues, friends or family. Be sure you have the presentation on hand and also be sure to have a copy of the presentation on your laptop, and it to your self.

Use Visual Aid:  If you use PowerPoint for the presentation, Do not use too many words on slides.  Use the cue cards.

Dress appropriately : Avoid clothing with holes or that is overly casual.  Avoid revealing clothes  Wear clothes that fit you, but not so tight that it restrict your movement.  Females: Keep makeup natural & simple.  Males: Avoid wearing a hat before giving a presentation,

Relax: Relax, don't sweat and have fun.

Assessment After the learners did all the suggestion that I mention on the previous slides. You have to practice what you have learned from the PowerPoint and then take the Assessment sheet that I’ve made and give it to the teacher as a grade sheet and then give it back to me to see if I can make improvement or not.
