Teacher Keys Evaluation Systems Student Surveys Principals Supporting Principal Survey Preparation Ms. Collingsworth, Dr. Thomas, and Mr. Benedict

Purpose of the Surveys Students provide information about their perceptions of how a teacher is performing. Help the teacher set goals for continuous improvement Provide information to evaluators that may not be accurately obtained during observation or other types of documentation. Contains questions that address each of the ten Teacher Performance Tasks.

Data needed to Create Accounts Course Names Course Sections Student numbers per section Create your schedule (Each teacher should have two sections surveyed during a school year).

Creating Student Accounts Log into TLE Platform (tle.gadoe.org) Click Administration Tab Locate Survey /Assessment Click Manage Student/Teacher Survey School Name should appear. Click Create/View Accounts A roster of your teachers should appear Select a teacher and click “create a new course” Enter Course ID, Course Name and Section (*This information is needed from Data Specialist and should coincide with Pinnacle. Save A plus (+) sign should appear in front of the teacher’s name. Click on plus sign You should see the course information you created for this teacher. Click “Manage Accounts” Enter number of accounts (students in that section), lock out date, and select the appropriate grade-level survey.

Creating Student Accounts An account summary for that teacher should appear – It will give you the option to print or cancel. (HINT: Notice there is NO teacher name and this can be problematic if you do not organize). Suggestion: 1. Print codes and immediate put teacher name on document. 2. Cut and Paste to a word document with the teacher’s name. These strips should be cut and placed in a “baggie” and ready for use. Print two class rosters from Pinnacle- one to keep within the bag and one that can be enlarged for students to sign. If Schools find an easier/quicker way to complete the task……………….SHARE! We are ALL learning together!

Helpful Hints with Administering Surveys Secure the necessary adults (Principal, Assistant Principals, Media Specialist, Guidance Counselor, or Instructional Coach). If you have multiple labs…..utilize them. Follow steps outlined in Surveys of Instructional Practice Protocol It is recommended that the survey be read to the students. This will eliminate items being missed. The survey will allow you to close even when all questions were not completed- WATCH!
