9 NEW USER – STEP 2 Write down information. The user will be the only person to know this information User ID: Create a User ID – must be between 6 -9 Alpha Numeric Characters. (ex: abc9999) 9 Department of Planning and Student Information Systems Password: Create a Password – must be 6-9 Alpha Numeric Characters and must contain at least three of the following types: Upper Case, Lower Case, Numeric, Punctuation Confirm Password Must contain 4 Numbers (ex: 1234)

15 Profile Set-Up Select Settings & Update Profile This page allows the teacher to change their password, PIN and update Hint Questions. You can also enter a phone number, e-mail address and a note for Parents to view in txConnect. (Reminder: Parents will be able to view your information in txConnect. 16 To Change an Expired Password For security purposes, your password will expire every 90 days. If your password has expired, you will be redirected to the Password Expired page before the Announcements page is displayed. 1.Type your current password 2.Type (and retype to confirm) you new password 3.Click Submit If you have typed the data correctly, your password will be changed, and the Announcement page will be displayed. 16 Department of Planning and Student Information Systems

17 Forget Your Password or Get Locked Out If you get locked out of your account, you must contact your campus Technology Teacher to reset. After your Technology Teacher resets your account, you will “click” on the “Forgot your Password? 17 Department of Planning and Student Information Systems Warning: If you have three unsuccessful attempts to log on (invalid user ID/password combinations), the system will lock out your account. If your account is locked out, please contact your campus tech to have your account reset.

23 Arrange Student Order Choose the semester and course section. Then click Retrieve Data. Active students in will appear in the alpha order. Students who have withdrawn or dropped will appear on the bottom of the listing. Drag and drop the students into the desired order. 23 Department of Planning and Student Information Systems

24 Seating Chart The Seating Chart Setup page allows you to create and maintain seating charts for all of your classes. The seating chart lists the student name, gender, and ID and photos if available. The seats are color- coded by gender. Student seats can be rearranged at any time. 24 Department of Planning and Student Information Systems The student seating chart is independent of the Arrange Student Order.

25 Categories Color Coding of Categories Percentage – weights must total 100%. Point – the total will initially be zero and will increment automatically as assignments are added to the category. Multiplier – allows the teacher to designate how many times a group of assignments will be counted towards the average. 25 Department of Planning and Student Information Systems

27 Set-Up Assignments This page allows the teacher to build the assignments that will be administered for the selected course-section. A teacher may also enter an assignment note which can be viewed in txConnect. 31 Student Attendance On this page, the teacher may post attendance for a given period or view attendance that has already been posted. 31 Department of Planning and Student Information Systems Select Date, Semester & Period Default is Present. Select Attendance & enter PIN and select post.

32 Student Attendance Once posted in the grade book, attendance must be changed in the SIS by the Attendance Clerk. Click the “Print” button. To make corrections, use black or blue ink. You must sign and date the corrections. 32 Department of Planning and Student Information Systems
