3 Attainment Tasks Are Designed To: 3 Provide an alternate assessment to the Kentucky Performance Rating for Educational Progress (K-PREP) for students with significant cognitive disabilities in Reading Mathematics Writing Science (will not be part of accountability for 2015-16) Social Studies This is required by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act 2004 (IDEIA 2004, reauthorized in 2007). 4 An Attainment Task Assesses skills that evidence performance of specified standards Uses an activity that is based on an authentic task (e.g., similar to a task that might occur in real life) Requires the student complete a task, working step by step as directed by the teacher Has scores entered into an online data base system 4Overview/Attainment Tasks Training Part 2.1

5 Test Security 5 Attainment Task materials are considered secure testing materials and must be kept secure. Do not reproduce except as directed in materials (e.g., extra copy for cutting apart pictures, enlarging task, additional copies for test administration, etc.). Do not take notes on the task to be used for test preparation. Do not share the task with unauthorized persons. Return all materials to the Building Assessment Coordinator, District Assessment Coordinator, or Director of Special Education to be securely destroyed. Overview/Attainment Tasks Training Part 2.1

6 Prior to Administering the Test 6 Complete this online training module. Complete and pass the online qualification quiz. Teachers must pass the quiz in order to continue with the test and will have three opportunities to do so. Print two copies of the quiz certificate. File a copy of the quiz certificate in the AAAF. Provide a copy of the quiz certificate to the District or Building Assessment Coordinator prior to receiving testing materials Sign the Code of Ethics and file in the AAAF. 7 AT Resource Guide Provides additional information to help clarify testing protocols and facilitate instruction including Adaptations and modifications Specific content items Information about orienting students to materials A picture glossary of sample terms for each content area The resource guide may be used all year for instructional purposes. 8 Materials for Visual Impairments Districts may request supplemental materials for students who have been identified with a visual impairment. Request for materials should be submitted by the DAC no later than September 15, 2015. Not all materials or grade ranges will have supplemental materials available. 9 Receiving Testing Materials Each school with students participating in the alternate assessment will receive one Attainment Task testing binder for the grades represented in the school. Materials will be shipped for test window 1 the week of October 19, 2015 and will be received no later than October 23. Overview/Attainment Tasks Training Part 2.19

10 Receiving Testing Materials Copies of Attainment Tasks can be made in order to provide to another alternate assessment teacher in the school or to cut pictures apart for administration without damaging the original. Any school level materials missing or damaged should be communicated immediately to the DAC or district level administrator. 11 Key Dates for Test Administration 11 The task administration for window one begins November 2, 2015. The attainment task administration for window one closes December 11, 2015. The Student Registration Database (for score entry) will open for window 1,TAR and Learner Characteristics Inventory (LCI) November 2, 2015 and will close for AT entry only on December 18, 2015.
