Technology Sparks Industrial Growth Developments in technology in manufacturing known as Industrial Revolution Industrial Revolution also changed culture, social life, and politics IR began in Great Brittan in the 1700’s with the development of machines powered by steam or flowing rivers.

Slater opens 1st Textile Mill Samuel Slater-comes to the US from England 1793-Pawtucket Rhode Island- builds nations first water powered textile mill This Mill produced 1 part of the textile manufacturing: cotton thread
