Copyright © Glencoe/McGraw-Hill Carpentry & Building Construction Installing a Lockset Step 4 Using a 2 1 / 8 " hole saw, bore a hole through the face of the door. To prevent splitting the faces, bore the hole on one side until the bit breaks through. Then complete the boring from the other side.
