Copyright © Glencoe/McGraw-Hill Carpentry & Building Construction Installing a Pre-Hung Interior Door Step 5 a.Place a shim on the floor to elevate the hinge side of the door slightly. b.Lift the door into position on top of the shim. c.Check to be sure that the jamb is plumb and flush with the finished wall.

Do this by raising or lowering the strike jamb side of the door. b.Use shims to keep the gap even across the top. c.Nail through the shims into the header.
