33 Class Procedures Why should you follow these classroom procedures? It will help keep our classroom safe, orderly, and free from disruptions.

34 Class Procedures How do I enter the classroom?  Come in QUIETLY.  SIT in your seat.  Check the BOARD for announcements and warm-up.  Begin your WORK.

35 Class Procedures How do I pack up?  Wait for teacher’s permission.  Clean up your desk area.  Put up any classroom materials.  Remain in seat until asked to line up.

36 Class Procedures How do I sit in my desk?  Face forward.  Both feet on floor in front of desk.  No feet on other desks.  Sit straight up. No slouching.

40 Class Procedures How do I get missing work from when I was absent?  Check website for that day’s agenda and assignments.  Get worksheets/assignments from Weekly Handouts folders at The SAS.  Write “ABSENT on _(date)_” at top of assignment.  Place work in the Late or Missing Work basket.

45 Class Procedures How do I read independently?  QUIET. Do not communicate with others.  Eyes on BOOK.  Get book out quickly and immediately.  If out of books, raise hand and ask to get one from classroom library. **If you are not reading diligently, you will be required to copy all of or part of your book onto notebook paper in addition to other consequences as determined by teacher.**

55 Classroom Job Descriptions Calendar – (homeroom only) marks off each day and keeps calendar updated with important events; changes date on board Messenger – takes messages from Ms. Morrison to other teachers/staff as needed Teacher’s Helper – helps teacher with various tasks as needed (ex: hole- punching, organizing papers, etc); keeps track of who is absent in class each day; helps students who were absent find absent work and explains Bathroom Monitor – needed: 1 boy and 1 girl per class; monitors bathroom behavior; calls students 4 at a time; reports problems to teacher Supply Manager – makes sure class supplies (such as highlighters and glue sticks, etc) are cared for and returned whenever used Class Cleaner – cleans classroom as needed (desks, sweeping, etc.); empties pencil sharpener as needed; Core 3 cleaners (need 2) will clean tables in lunch room Paper Passer – passes out handouts and collects work at teachers request Computer Technician – helps with computer issues as needed; homeroom: ensures laptops are plugged up correctly at end of day Substitute – fills in when any other worker is absent
