Un repaso de los verbos regulares e irregulares Mucho más con otros verbos irregulares

Verbos Regulares -Ar -é -amos -aste -asteis -ó -aron -Er/-Ir -í -imos -iste -isteis -ió -ieron

3 Define and Conjugate the following verbs in the preterite:
correr- estudiar- vivir-

4 -car -gar -zar verbs “YO” form spelling change
-car sacar -gar jugar -zar empezar Note: -Ar stem-changing verbs do NOT stem change in the preterite, only in the present tense What is a verb stem? How is it formed?

5 Define AND Conjugate the following verbs:
*buscar- *llegar- *comenzar-

6 -Ir stem-changing verbs (
-Ir stem-changing verbs (*stem change in the 3rd person singular & plural forms ONLY!) e i o u *servir *dormir serví servimos dormí dormimos serviste servisteis dormiste dormisteis

7 Define these –ir stem-changing verbs and what their stem change would be:
preferir- morir- divertirse- vestir(se)- pedir- seguir- conseguir- reír(se)- repetir- sentir-

8 Ir/Ser Dar and Ver Remember how to conjugate these?
they ALL have irregular forms! *ir/ser *dar *ver *Notice that NONE of the forms have accent marks!

9 Other irregular preterite verbs can be placed into categories
To make it easier on yourself, memorize them! Categories -J group verbs -U group verbs -I group verbs -Y group verbs

10 J Group Verbs decir (to say, tell) conducir (to drive)
traducir (to translate) producir (to produce) traer (to bring) *Add the following endings to these verbs: Notice- NO accent marks!

11 U Group Verbs saber (know/found out) poner (put, place/become)
poder (could~carried out) tener (had/was) estar (was, were) andar (walked) *Add the following endings to these verbs: Notice- NO accent marks!

12 I group Verbs venir (come) hacer (made, did)
querer (want/deny, refuse) *In the 3rd person singular, hacer becomes hizo to maintain the soft “c”sound *Add the following endings to these verbs: Notice- NO accent marks!

13 Y Group Verbs These verbs are different than the previous groups because they only have a “y” in the 3rd person singular & plural. They also have accents on some forms that regular verbs do not You must be extra careful when learning & conjugating these verbs.

14 *leer- *creer- *caer- *huir- *incluir- *oír-
