In the yo form these verbs have a spelling change to perserve their sound:
-car -qué (ca says K, ce says S)
-gar -gué (ga says G, ge says H)
-zar -cé (z is half a letter – it never appears with
e or i)
“Watch out for the “Sleazy-G” (CZG)”

6. i-y i changes to y when between 2 other vowels
These verbs end with double vowels
oír (to hear) leer (to read)
