10 Okinawa  Spring of 1945  Part of the Japanese Archipelago  Largest and Final confrontation with Japanese  Used as a testing for mainland invasion  Month long bombardment followed by 180,000 soldier invasion on the 1 st of April  US will win at a great cost. 1/3 of island population (150,000) die
