6. Language Verbal, written, or visual way for people in a group to communicate. Dialect Changes in speech patterns related to class, region, or cultural changes Language Families Groups of languages that share a common origin language 语言 sprache lingua 언어 γλώσσα язык língua lengua 言語

7. Cultural Region The spreading of a culture element Culture Diffusion A region where certain cultural traits prevail. Acculturation Social change due to accepting or adopting an innovation. Innovation Creating something new to meet a need.

8. Region – Formal Region – An area with a common characteristic or feature, and distinct boundaries Functional Region – An area that is connected by a common function or activity. Perceptual Region – An area with no formal boundaries but is understood to exist. An area with one or more characteristics in common.
