2. 1.1Why did you use a computer? What other systems / resources could you have used? I used a computer because it is easy to use and helps me do my work a lot faster, also it makes me work look a lot more formal than writing in pen. The resources I could of used is a laptop, tablet or a phone but my work would of took a bit longer if I used a tablet or iPhone because they are smaller, however my work would have been equally formal if I had used a laptop and it would of took the same speed. I could of used a piece of paper or did my presentation on a poster but the disadvantages of that would be that I would have to use a lot of paper and it would take too much time.

3. 1.2What skills did you need to learn in order to use PowerPoint? Skills I needed to learn in order to use PowerPoint were basic computer skills, like knowing how to change fonts, underline titles, add more slides etc. Also skills like how to use a mouse and keyboard but they are very basic and most people know how to use them. Also I needed ICT skills to use PowerPoint things like how to insert pictures, videos, animations and graphs to make my presentation look more professional. I would also need to know how to add slides and change fonts to make my work look put together. 4. 1.2What resources did you need to make the presentation successful? The resources that I used to make my presentation successful are PowerPoint for me to do my presentation on and Google images for me to be able to get suitable photos for my presentation. I used images to make my presentation more exciting and colourful. I used a video so the audience got a better look around the school. I used sound the capture the audiences attention a bit more. I used the internet to gain facts about my school and to gets images.

5. 1.4What factors might have affected how well you completed the presentation? (e.g. time / attendance / knowledge of software) Factors that might have affected how well I completed the presentation could have been my attendance because I had a lot of time off at the start of the year, which means I didn’t have a lot of time to do my presentation so I kind of rushed it but in the end I finished it on time. Also I was new to some of the software I was using so it took time to get used to it but now I know how to use the software correctly and sometimes the work was kind of difficult so it took a while to figure it out.

6. 1.6Why did you use PowerPoint to make your presentation? What other software was available? Why did you choose not to use them? I used PowerPoint to make my presentation because it’s a easier layout to understand and it made the presentation a lot more fun and interesting. Also because I can insert images, animations, sounds etc. I could of used Word but it would have been a bit trickier for the audience to understand because it is a lot more formal that PowerPoint and my presentation would have been in big boring paragraphs which would take a while to read. I could of used an online programme called ‘Prezi’ to create my presentation however this would of cost my school money and I would have had to learn the programme from scratch.

7. 2.2Which tools within PowerPoint made it appropriate for your presentation? Tools that made it appropriate for my presentation were the different types of animation that made the slides more effective, word art to make the titles more captivating and pictures off clipart so my presentation was more exciting. Also things like changing font sizes and using text that is relevant to the topic.

8. 1.7Were there any legal constraints or local constraints that changed the way you created your presentation? (e.g. copyright, file sizes) There wasn’t any legal constraints or local constraints that changed the way I created my presentation. All the information I got I wrote in my own words so it isn’t copy right. But we did use pictures from the schools website but we had their permission. We are aware of copyright. The person who took the pictures of the staff/students in my presentation had their permission. All my video sizes were suitable, if they were too big I wouldn’t be able to upload my presentation or email it.

9. 2.4What improvements do you think you could do to your presentation? Improvements that I would make on my presentation are add a bit more information and I could arrange my hyperlinks in a easier layout to understand. Also I would add some more pictures and maybe one or two more animations. I also might off made the text a bit more interesting.

10. 3.2What improvements do you think you could have done to improve your work rate? I worked at a normal speed but I just managed to complete the work before everyone else did. Also I would of not talked as much and I wouldn’t have anymore time off. I could of organised my work a bit better by having a better folder structure and filing system. Also I could have came to catch up.
