3  Agreed with RBWM to take a ‘bulge’ year of 45 pupils  2 classrooms in the same location (smaller class numbers)  Children split for purposes of supervision and in-house operational: registration, parents consultation evenings etc.  Children will have free flow and the opportunity to work with one another across the year group

6 Opportunity for the children to get to know us and vice versa. Familiarise them with their setting and progress throughout the school. Children should feel comfortable and transition should be as smooth as possible. A partnership between home and school so children feel safe. Also an opportunity to work with parents. We want parents to feel they are part of the school while respecting our professional responsibilities. Opportunity for parents to recognise or get to know one another.  Parent walk around  Parent information evening  Staff to visit your child’s pre-school setting  Pupils come to visit Holy Trinity School for familiarisation: groups of 15 (parents can stay 15 th 16 th 18 th June)  Pupils visit as a whole class and get to meet the adults they will be with in September (20 July 2015)  Home visit for personal conversations

7 All families will receive a welcome pack with key information about the school. Also in the pack will be some paper work for our records. Please complete and return the following;  School forms (personal details)  Home/School agreement signed  Photograph/Media permission slips signed  Local walks permission slip signed  If family earnings are below £16,190, your child may attract pupil premium funding to benefit the school and pupil needs. Enquire at the school office. Forms to the office by 20 July 2015.

8 All children start in September wearing full uniform. The school website shows the full range. We ask that you order school logo items via the school and the remainder can be purchased at all good stores.  Prefer to order this term ASAP. Uniform is currently delivered to the school  Forms and uniform available tonight, during visits to school and on the website  Opportunity to see and try sizes during the visits  Full list available online and in the welcome pack  Black shoes (no trainers), low heels and no open toe shoes please.  No jewellery: accept stud earrings only if ears are pierced.  Hair tied back if long. Hair bands/scrunchies in green please.  NAME ALL ITEMS – some good websites for sticky/iron on labels

9  School doors open at 8.40am and school officially starts at 8.55am.  Week one: all pupils come in part time: Mornings + lunch pick up at 1.15pm from the class door.  All children are entitled to free lunches until the end of year two, menu is made available and online. Welcome pack has autumn term lunch menu.  Can bring own packed lunch. We are a healthy school. Please do not bring in chocolate bars, sweets or fizzy drinks/energy drinks. IMPORTANT: NO NUT PRODUCTS

10  Encourage your child to find their pegs and hang coats up  Bring a water bottle into class (named)  Select lunch for the day  Parents may stay for a little while if child distressed (staff will take over when available)  No need to bring PE kit or Book bag for the first week

11  Staff will get to know your child  Establish behaviour and routines  Develop independence, confidence & positive relationships  DfE requires a Baseline Assessment  Invite parents to an introduction meeting curriculum expectations, routines etc.  Invited to come and see (during school day)  Opportunity to talk to Head Teacher (Macmillan coffee morning)

12  Please provide a cap  Apply sun cream before school  Ensure they have a water bottle with them  Can bring sun cream to school – must be named and child can administer

13 If your child requires medication: Please complete a medical form and hand in at the office with their medicine.  Inhalers – One must be kept in school with pupils name on at all times.  Other prescribed medication only.  We need to know about children who have severe medical needs or allergies. Child should have a health care plan from medical profession. Please bring in copies so we can share with all staff.  Staff are not required to administer medicines however, we are happy to supervise pupils who take medication and ensure they have the correct dosage and the correct time.  Our staff are trained in basic first aid, paediatric first aid, epipen training, asthma training and diabetic trained staff.  Toilet concerns – alert the class teacher and refer to intimate care policy. Please refer to our medical policy for full details.

14  The preschool next door operates an after school service. We take/collect pupils from school to preschool. Details are in your pack.  Breakfast club from 7.30am. Please refer to our office staff for full details  After school clubs available and last for an hour. Vary throughout the year.

15  Encourage child to put coat on and do it up themselves  Teach your child to turn clothes the right way round  Recognise their name and initial letter of surname  Manage the toilet and wash hands independently  Tidy toys away  Encourage your child to ask for help if needed
