3 PROTEIN GROUP  Red meat (Beef)  Poultry  Fish  Eggs  Dry Beans  Nuts  Legumes (dried beans, dried peas, clover and alfalfa are all legumes) Nitrogen producing plants

4 Dairy Group  Milk (low fat is best)  Cheese  Yogurt  Low fat or Fat free Ice Cream

5 Carbohydrates- main source of energy  STARCHES  Bread  Cereal  Rice  Pasta  Potatoes, corn and dried beans  Legumes Complex

6 Carbohydrates- Simple  Sugars  Candy  Soft drinks  Cookies  Desserts  Jams  Jellies  Jell-O
