2 We will First do the Southern Colonies

3 The map of the Virginia Colony
Virginia was the first colony to be settled in the Southern part of the United States. Captain John Smith discovered the Virginia Colony in They traveled there to find gold. In the Colony, there was no slaves. The Colony grew tobacco plants, so Virginia started the smoking process. The map of the Virginia Colony

4 The map of Maryland Colony
Maryland was found on 1642 by Cecil Calvert. It was the largest state to be rented by Catholics. They moved to the country because they want more land. They were from England The map of Maryland Colony

5 The map of North Carolina Colony
In 1584 North Carolina was found by the King of England. Bath was the oldest town in North Carolina All the people from England found it because they needed more land. The map of North Carolina Colony

6 The map of South Carolina Colony
South Carolina was found in 1663 by King Charles the second. They were all from England. They wanted more land. The map of South Carolina Colony

7 The map of Georgia Colony
James Oglethorpe found Georgia. Georgia was the smallest colony in the southern colonies. Oglethorpe was the governor too. King George III found it with him because they all needed more land The map of Georgia Colony

8 Now we will be going on the Northern Colonies

9 New York Colony The Colony of New York
The New York colony was found by Henry Hudson. They wanted more land so they found New York. It was named after King James II. It was the Second largest city in America The Colony of New York

10 The Colony of New Jersey
New Jersey Colony The New Jersey colony was founded in New York split up its colony, so the other part was New Jersey. Perth Envoy and Burlington was the capital The Colony of New Jersey

11 The Colony of Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania Colony The founder of Pennsylvania was William Penn and it was named after him in the 1670s. He and his colonist moved to Pennsylvania because they wanted freedom. Philadelphia was the capitol. As the years go on, Pennsylvania’s population was bigger than New York’s. The Colony of Pennsylvania

12 Delaware Colony The Colony of Delaware
The Delaware colony was founded by Henry Hudson, but was named after Baron De La Warr. Delaware was used to be part of Pennsylvania, but it broke away. Baron and his colonist was from Sweden to find freedom. The Colony of Delaware

13 Now we will go on to the New England Colonies

New Hampshire Colony The New Hampshire colony was founded by John Mason in He and his colony moved to it because for escaping for those constricted by religious and economic rules. The Colony of New Hampshire

15 The Colony of Massachusetts
Massachusetts Colony The Massachusetts colony was founded by William Bradford in He and his colonists came there because of Religious freedom for Separatists. The Colony of Massachusetts

16 The Colony of Rhode Island
Rhode Island Colony The Rhode Island Colony was founded on 1636 by Roger Williams. The reason for moving in the Colony was to have Religious freedom. The Colony of Rhode Island
