A Peek At The Week
-In reading we are continuing to direct instruction at students’ reading levels.
-In Math we are continuing our unit on shapes. This week students will explore time. What is the shape of a clock? How many equal parts are there? And how to tell time to the nearest hour and half hour.
-Writing time this week will continue with Poetry. We will listen to a variety of poems for sound words and create a Weather Poem by the end of the week
-Our Core Knowledge time will be spent on Social Studies this week. We are continuing our unit on Frontier Explorations. The students will be introduced to Lewis and Clark and their journey, as well as Sacagawea.
Homework Ideas
-Please take time to read with your child every night for minutes.
-Reading homework should be coming home daily!

-April 4th Pasta for Pennies fundraiser officially begins
-April 11th Annual MSA meeting at 6pm
-April 13th Battle of the Books school battle
-April 21st First grade Field Trip
-April 27th Sock Hop 6-8pm
-April 28th No School
Extra News
-On Friday, April 21st first grade will be going on a field trip to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. We are very excited about the many exhibits that compliment what we have already studied in Science and Social Studies. More information will be sent home later this week
