Registration Information and Course Selection Instructions for the Class of 2022 Presented on 1/17 & 1/18

3 General Announcements
Feb. 1st: CR/NC & Level Change Forms due by 3 pm* Students must request forms from their teacher *Annual classes require a CR/NC for both semester Feb. 4th – 10th: Summer School Registration online at April 9th- PSAT 8/9: All 9th grade students

4 Course Request Timeline
Jan Teachers talk with students about sequences of courses in their subject area Jan. 17 & 18- Parent & Student Presentation on Course Request Process Course Request Worksheet & Course Offering Sheet given to students Jan 3 p.m. –Jan. Infinite Campus Student Portal open. Students enter course requests in student portal Jan. 28- Feb. 20- Students meet individually with their Counselor to review requests. Counselors will meet with students through scheduled English courses Changes to requests can be made with counselors during student meetings. Student must bring their completed and parent/guardian SIGNED Course Request sheet to counselor meetings NO request/class changes after February 21st.

17 Drivers Education Auto loaded for all students by LT*
Students born on or before Dec 31, 2003 may register for Driver Ed in summer school 2017 Sign up for summer Driver Ed by calling the Drivers Ed office at Students born on or before Feb 28, 2004 first semester DR 9116 Students born on or after Feb 28, 2004 second semester DR 9117 *Students may take Driver Ed privately, but they must to turn in a certificate of completion to LTHS – Driver Ed is a requirement. *Counselor will adjust during individual meetings if opt of form submitted.

19 Social Studies Civics- LT graduation requirement
Auto loaded into Infinite Campus .5 credit of Social Studies; 1 semester course LT Requires 2.5 credits of Social Studies for LT graduation*: 9th grade: 1.0 Credit: World History of AP Human Geography 10th grade: 0.5 Credit: Civics 11th grade: 1.0 Credit: U.S. History *Recommend students take an additional 0.5 credit of Social Studies for college admissions. See APG for options, course descriptions, and location of campus courses are offered.

20 Electives Students will have credits of electives to select for sophomore year. If a student takes Driver’s Ed privately they may select .5 credit course to replace Driver’s Ed If a student wishes to continue World Languages or annual music courses those will take 1.0 credits Review course offering sheets and Academic Program Guide for all details on electives offerings, course descriptions and prerequisites

21 WoRLD language World Language is NOT required for LTHS graduation
Pay attention to what colleges require for admission to their school and major (See previous college preparation chart).

23 Infinite campus online course selection PRocess
The Infinite Campus Student Portal will be open from Jan. 18 at 3 pm until Jan. 25th at 3 pm. Step 1: Complete Course Selection Worksheet Step 2: Students will enter codes for requested and alternate courses in Infinite Campus Preloaded: IPC Accel, PE, Health, Driver’s Ed, Civics Step 3: Student will meet with counselor through English classes to review, adjust and confirm course requests

Completing the Course Request Worksheet Take course codes from Sophomore course offering (Green Sheet) ex: st0016- study hall 1st sem Fall (1st Semester) courses end with “6” Spring (2nd Semester) courses end with “7” English classes end in an “8” (IPC English II Accel will be auto loaded into IC.) You will end with 7 classes per semester (14 course codes total) You must enter 4 course Alternatives Semester preferences are not guaranteed

33 Completion Print a copy of course requests off of Infinite Campus. Parents need to sign this sheet and students need to return it to their counselor. Parent/Guardian Course Request Worksheet is for parents and students to use while they are entering their courses into Infinite Campus. Keep all material in folder for future reference BREATHE

Information take from: “The PSAT 8/9 test is a practice for the SAT, PSAT/NMSQT, and PSAT 10 which provides a preview of these tests. According to the College Board website, "the PSAT 8/9 will help students and teachers figure out what needs to be worked on most so that students are ready for college when they graduate from high school.
