1337 – The English king Edward III declared himself king of France Crecy – first battle, English archers were victorious 1415 – Henry V took control of Northern France

4 Joan of Arc Visions of saints told her to go to church and be a good person when 13 Visions led to meeting with King Charles VII and told him she could help France Joan was allowed to go with troops and her faith inspired a victory at Orleans After capture, she would not confess to any crimes Burned at the stake Made a saint in 1920 by Catholic Church
