3 8th grade schedule AB Language Arts and History Math
Students are placed in math classes based on teacher recommendation and semester grades. 2nd semester grade will be checked before confirming student placement for Math 8 with Math Strategies Below 70% in Math 7 Math 8 70% or better in Math 7 Below 80% in Advanced Math 7 Advanced Math 8 80% or better in Advanced Math 7

4 8th grade schedule Science Science 8
Students are placed in science classes based on their first semester Science grade. Honors Science 8 *New Curriculum A in Science 7 AND an A Math 7, OR A or B in Honors Science 7 AND A or B in Adv Math 7

5 8th grade schedule PE All 8th graders must take PE
Must choose between co- ed or athletic PE 0 period and lunch PE are options All combinations of electives with the exception of Teen Living/Art, Teen Living/Film Studies or Teen Living/Young Authors will qualify students to take lunch or zero period PE

6 Electives Please choose your electives carefully!
You must choose 3 elective classes. You will be enrolled in ONE of the three selected electives. Consider class choices to be FINAL. NO schedule changes will be made unless you are placed in the wrong class. IMPORTANT: Class balancing takes place within the first two weeks of the school year. Class schedules may be subject to change.

7 Electives Performing Arts Application Electives (A)
Most Performing Art electives have unlimited seating Application Electives (A) Applications were due February 2nd which included all teacher recommendations (Peer Counseling, Leadership, Yearbook, and Journalism) AVID application was due February 5th.

Students who are motivated to succeed Students who need support in developing a plan for college Students who are willing to try new strategies to reach their goals Students who are willing to work harder Students who want to attend college Student who have satisfactory citizenship, good attendance, and G.P.A. of

Teen Living/Art Teen Living/Film Studies Teen Living/Young Authors Advanced Art Forensics **If you are currently taking: Robotics, Teen living/Art, Teen living/Film Studies, don’t sign up for the course again next year

10 World Language Spanish and French are offered
3.5 GPA and a 4 (Exceeding Standards) on ELA SBAC Enrollment based upon space availability- priority given to Clovis North students More space available in French

11 Academic Interventions
Students will be recommended by AB teacher Academic Seminar Focus on reading, comprehension, writing, language, homework support in AB Study Strategies Receive C-/D grades consistently Focus on study skills, academic skills, and organization skills

12 Math Strategies Students may be recommended by their math teacher for this intervention class It is an additional math class for students who would benefit from extra math support in Math 8

13 Intermediate Leadership Academy
Students earning multiple F’s (English Language Arts, History, Math or Science) on their first semester report card and/or score 1 or 2 on SBAC ELA and/or 1 or 2 on SBAC Math will be recommended for Intermediate Leadership Academy. Summer School dates: 6/18-7/12 M-Th 8:30-2:30pm Location: Alta Intermediate School

Registration form is due to your Math Teacher on February 20th. Registration will be on Feb. 21st and 22nd in the LLH.
