2 Classroom Rules and Procedures

3 1. What should or shouldn’t you do when taking PowerPoint notes?
Listen when the teacher is talking (If you have a question, raise your hand.) Write when the teacher isn’t talking You should not be talking during the ppt presentation (even if you are finished with the slide) No sleeping I give plenty of time between slides for you to write down the information; however if you tend to take more than the allotted time, you should leave some space and you can borrow the written copy to fill in any missing notes. If you tend to finish quickly, use the time to reread and study the notes you have already taken.

4 2. What items must be brought to class everyday?
Periodic checks for notebooks and textbooks will be made. If you do not have yours on that day, you will receive a grade of 0! You must take your textbook with you each day. Textbook 3 ring binder with paper Pencil or pen (blue or black ink only) Calculator Homework when assigned

5 3. What type of calculator do you need?
A basic calculator that adds, subtracts, multiplies and divides. You should be able to find one for less than $2 at most stores. You will not be allowed to use a programmable calculator or cell phone calculator.

7 7. Where will you find the Bellringer?
On the smartboard 8. How is the Bellringer to be completed? If the Bellringer is on the board, the questions/statements must be written down. The math will be taught via example problems on the chalkboard. I expect you to write down each example problem on your own paper. Example problems will be followed by in-class practice problems and then by homework problems. You must show your work for all math problems. I expect you to bring your calculator to class everyday.

16 17. Homework If you are given time to start your homework in class then you should do so. I do not want to hear that you are going to do it later. Copying another student’s homework will result in a zero for both you and the student whose paper you copied. Homework turned in after the tardy bell is considered late.

17 Journal Entries Every week you are to write a full page summary of what you learned that week. These must have the start date and the final date on them and be turned in on the Monday following the week they covered.
