1 Technology acts a direct substitute, with no functional improvement
Add, Subtract, Multiply, and Divide Decimals Read and review the tasks completely before beginning. Go to my blackboard website. Click on the math tab. Go to the Adding and Subtracting Quiz. Type in your 1st name only at the top of the quiz. Take the test. Be sure to apply the strategies we have learned. When you are finished with your quiz print it before you click submit. When your quiz is in your hand, click submit. Did you remember to hit submit at end of test? Did you remember to log out of Bb? This task uses: Learning Objective(s): 5.NBT.B.7 Add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals to hundredths, using concrete models or drawings and strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction; relate the strategy to a written method and explain the reasoning used. SUBSTITUTION Technology acts a direct substitute, with no functional improvement Teacher Notes: Teaher will create an adding and subtracting quiz using Google Forms and put the link in BB. Teacher’s name/ Becky Doyle/ School: Moss Bluff Elementary Louisiana State Standard: 5.NBT.B.7 Grade Level/Subject: 5th/Math Special Directions/Considerations: Read aloud for those with modifications. Activity Evaluation: Formal Prerequisites for students: Lesson on add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals to hundredths. Computer background on printing forms using Ctrl+P.

2 Add, Subtract, Multiply, and Divide Decimals
1. Read all direction of this task before beginning. 2. Get your assigned ipad 3. Open the “Calculator App.” 4. Use the calculator app to check each problem of the quiz you took on blackboard. 5. Correct the answers that you missed. 6. If your answers are different, use the “Kids Recorder” app to explain the difference. When you are finished, name your recording with your first initial and last name. (Example: bdoyle) 7. Turn in your corrected and completed test. Did you show all of your work? This task uses: Kids Recorder Learning Objective(s): 5.NBT.B.7 Add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals to hundredths, using concrete models or drawings and strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction; relate the strategy to a written method and explain the reasoning used. . AUGMENTATION Technology acts as a direct tool substitute with functional improvement TEACHER NOTES: Load Kids Recorder app on all iPads. Teacher’s name/ Becky Doyle/ School:Moss Bluff Elementary Louisiana State Standard:5.NBT.B.7 Grade Level/Subject: 5th/Math Special Directions/Considerations: Read aloud for those with modifications. Activity Evaluation: Informal Prerequisites for students:Lesson on add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals to hundredths. Computer background

3 Add, Subtract, Multiply, and Divide Decimals
Read all direction of this task before beginning. Log in to Blackboard, using the link on the home screen. Go to the discussion board “Compare add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals” Answer the discussion question “How would you compare the steps for the adding and subtracting to the steps for multiplying and dividing decimals?” Respond to at least one other classmate's response. Give positive feedback. Be sure to logout of blackboard when you have completed the task. This task uses: Learning Objective(s): 5.NBT.B.7 Add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals to hundredths, using concrete models or drawings and strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction; relate the strategy to a written method and explain the reasoning used. . MODIFICATION Technology allows for a significant task redesign. TEACHER NOTES: Teacher will create Discussion Board “Compare add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals”. Teacher’s name/ : Becky Doyle/ School:Moss Bluff Elementary Louisiana State Standard:: 5.NBT.B.7 Grade Level/Subject: 5th/Math Special Directions/Considerations: Read aloud for those with modifications Activity Evaluation: Informal Prerequisites for students: Lesson on add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals to hundredths. Computer & Blackboard background.

4 Add, Subtract, Multiply, and Divide Decimals
Go to the discussion board “Compare add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals” Find your post and read the responses from you classmates. Respond to the their comments. Review at least two other posts from my other classes and comment on each. Be sure to log out of Bb when you finish this task. REDEFINITION Technology allows for new tasks, previously inconceivable. TEACHER NOTES: See notes from previous slide. Teacher’s name/ : Becky Doyle/ School: Moss Bluff Elementary Louisiana State Standard:: 5.NBT.B.7 Grade Level/Subject: 5th/Math Special Directions/Considerations: Read aloud for those with modifications Activity Evaluation: Informal Prerequisites for students: Lesson on add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals to hundredths. Computer & Blackboard background.
