**Remember to wear tennis shoes on P.E. days**
A Peek At The Week -In reading we are continuing to transition into our reading groups. Students will begin to participate in small group lessons and independent work time in order to direct instruction at each child’s reading level. -This week in math we will continue with number bonds and recognizing the 2 parts and a whole. This will transition into an addition number sentence. Students have also begun spending part of math on the computers using ST math. -Writing time will continue with writing about what each student can do to help. We will create lists on what they can do to help at home and at school. -This week we will continue our socials studies unit on Geography. Students will learn about what climate and animals are native to each continent. Homework Ideas -Homework begins today We will have reading homework on M/W/F and math homework on T/Th. Homework is a completion grade on the first grade report card. Mrs. Hawkins’ First Grade News September 5, 2017 Looking Ahead -No school on Monday, September 4th. -Monfort will host a fundraiser Jog-A-thon on Friday, September 15. -Parent-teacher conferences are Monday, September 18th 12-8pm and Tuesday, September 19th 4-8pm. *A Sign-Up genius should have arrived for you to pick a time. If you haven’t received it or need assistance signing up for a time, please let me know. -Field Day is Friday, September 22nd. Extra News -If you are able to donate any Clorox Wipes they would be greatly appreciated. There is a lot of sharing in our room and unfortunately that means sharing germs too. Specials this Week Monday- No School Tuesday- Music Wednesday- P.E. Thursday- Computers Friday- Art **Remember to wear tennis shoes on P.E. days** Reminders -Please get in the routine of taking papers out of the folders every night and returning the folder everyday. It helps SO much with getting papers neatly back and forth!
