After that, come to a consensus (agreement) with your group. We will review as a class. The winning group will receive one vending machine pass per person!

8/15/14 Language Arts Warm Up/Opening Session Turn in your homework to the correct box. In your Interactive Notebook, Journal: Remember your favorite childhood story. Who are the characters in the story? What happens in the story? Where and when does it take place? What problem is presented and resolved?

8/14/14 Essential Question: What helps us to determine the meaning of a word? Standard: ELA.6L.4.b – Use common, grade-appropriate Greek or Latin affixes and roots as clues to the meaning of a word (e.g., audience, auditory, audible).

8/14/14 Language Arts Work Session In your Reader’s Journey workbook: Use page 15 to help you create your flipbook on prefixes. We will watch Pendamonium’s “The Italian Job” on prefixes. Essential Question: What helps us to determine the meaning of a word?

8/14/14 Closing Session  Prefixes Popcorn!  Write one of the prefixes (just the prefix, not a whole word) that we practiced today on your slip of paper and make a paper ball out of it.  Hold on to it until I say go!  Homework: Hidden Message Puzzle  Both sides are due tomorrow.
