Benchmark # 2 Go get your breakfast NOW. Do not wait. Turn in any signed paperwork to the 7th period bin. If you are not eating, you must read something of your choice. HOMEROOM = SILENCE

I.A.N. - E.L.A. Terms Add the following vocabulary terms to their correct pages within your I.A.N. You DO NOT need to write the page number next to the vocabulary word. Use the definitions as listed below. antagonist (p. 1) – the main character that is bad/against the protagonist conflict (p. 5) – a struggle between opposing forces protagonist (p. 31) – the main character that is good ***If you finish early, cut out each of the four rectangles.***

Standard: ELASE6RL2 – Determine a theme or central idea of a text and how it is conveyed through particular details; provide a summary of the text distinct from personal opinions or judgments. Learning Targets: Define the concept of change through the reading of a narrative. Apply understanding of narrative elements to reading and writing.

I.A.N. pages & E.L.A. terms section If you didn’t finish “Types of Conflict Worksheet #1” in class, you must finish it for homework tonight! Then, as you read, you should add to your “Notes for Independent Reading” chart within your Reading Portfolio. This ½ sheet is due TOMORROW (Friday, September 1, 2017)!
