What was the main economy of the Industrial North?

What was the main economy of the Agricultural South?

 Cotton!

  The south relied on slaves to pick their cotton. Slavery

 The speed and efficiency of cotton picking was greatly increased by the invention of the cotton gin!  One slave could do the work of fifty! Cotton Gin

 The industrial revolution sped up production and efficiency. How did the industrial revolution change the way people work?

 The north states were fighting to free the slaves, however slaves fueled the southern economy. Why was the civil war also a war of the economies?
