MUSCULAR SYSTEM By: Daniela Olalde

Every person has muscles. They help do almost everything. Some muscles like the heart work on their own. Others you can control like the muscles in your hand. Humans have over 600 muscles.

WHAT ARE MUSCLES?  Muscles are made up of fibers that are stretchy, like a rubberband. Each muscle is made up of thousands of fibers

WHAT TYPES OF MUSCLES DO WE HAVE? We have 3 different types of muscles in our body: * Cardiac Muscles * Smooth Muscles *Skeletal Muscles

CARDIAC MUSCLES  Cardiac Muscles are muscles of the heart.when it contracts it makes the heart pump blood and move blood. This type of muscle is involuntary.

SMOOTH MUSCLES  Smooth muscles are found in hollow parts of the body for example: stomach, intestine, blood vessels and the bladder and are also known as involuntary muscles.

SKELETAL MUSCLES This type of muscle tissue help hold the skeletal frame together. In another words it connects joints and skeleton bones.Skeleton muscle make 50% of our body weight. We use them to walk and lift.

HOW MUSCLES WORK?  Well, the brain sends signals through the Nervous System to motor neurons on muscles telling them to contract. Nerves in our muscles recive messages and make muscles contract. Contracting causes muscles to pull the bones to which they attached.

FUNTIONS OF OUR MUSCLES  The funtions of our muscles are to make movements, stabilizes bones. This help us to maintain straight and keep us sitting.

INTERACTIONS OF THE MUSCULAR SYSTEM The S keletal System interacts with the muscular System to interact muscles. The Nervous System sends signals to make a muscle move. The Circulatatory System brings nutrients to the muscles and takes away wastes. The main interaction bewteen the Repitatory System and the muscular is that a large flat of muscle separates the lungs from the intestine

FUN FACTS!  There are 30 facial muscles that create many expressions. The hardest muscle working in your body is our muscles in our eyes.
