Coil Vase Medium: Ceramics Elements: Form and Space

What is a coil? A length of something wound or arranged in a spiral or sequence of rings. A series of connected spirals or concentric rings formed by gathering or winding. Coils are long, snake-like ropes of clay.

Concentric Circle Concentric circle: two or more objects that share the same center.

Coiling A.K.A. Coil Pot Coiling is a method of creating pottery. Shape clay into vessels. By placing one coil on top of another, different shapes can be formed. Roll coils about the size of an ordinary pencil and wound up to create the desired shape. * Extruder gun may be used to make different sizes and shapes of coils.
