What Is Global Warming…  “ Global Warming is the term used to describe a gradual increase in the average temperature of the Earth’s atmosphere and its oceans, a change that is believed to be permanently changing the Earth’s climate.” live science  Global warming is caused by the human expansion of the green house effect  The green house effect is a natural process that warms Earth. When the suns rays hit Earth, it absorbs the heat from the sun and radiates it back into the atmosphere, but some of the heat gets absorbed by green house gases that are in the atmosphere.

What is Global Warming… Continued  Human intervention and fossil fuels being heated is causing global warming.  These fossil fuels are used to power many of our every day items.  A common pollutant of fossil fuels being heated is Carbon Dioxide which is a green house gas.  Other green house gas compounds are Methane (CH 4 ), Ozone (O 3 ), and Water Vapor (H 2 O).  All of these over produced green house gasses get trapped in the atmosphere and absorb radiation which is heating Earth.  The earth is being heated roughly between 0.15 to 0.20 C per decade.

How Global Warming Is Impacting You…  Global warming is heating the ice caps that are in Greenland which causes many kinds of animals (Polar Bears, Seals, Penguins, Etc.) to lose their environment.  Also, this massive melting is raising the Oceans and Seas.  Scientist predict that by 2100, the sea level will rise from 2.5 feet to 6.5 feet. dramatically changing  Global warming is dramatically changing the Earth.  California is having a big drought right now causing wild fires and food loss.  Many people in coastal cities in Miami; New York City; New Orleans; and Venice, Italy are losing their homes due to floods.  Plants and animals are dying because of this extreme climate.  Global warming is affecting animal migration. The extreme weather is making it difficult for many animals to get to their destination due to flood, drought, and wild fire.

Our Proposal

How we will reduce global warming…  How to help company and factory pollution:  We will make it where factories can’t pollute the earth by making them follow regulations to use less fossil fuels and rely on more renewable resources.  The first year no one pays anything. The second year there is a 5% corporate income tax. Next year there is 10% income tax. Then for every year 5% of the tax goes up. Example: 6 th year would be 25%.  They will use what ever renewable resource that works the best for them. Example: Businesses in California might consider wind power over geo thermal.  How to help every day people:  Electric trucks and cars must continue to improve their battery life so they can be more common.  More rechargeable stations for cars  People have solar panels on top of house to get more power instead of always relying on nuclear power.  The solar energy depends on the size of the solar cell and how much light hits the panel.

Energy we are converting…  Instead of using nuclear or fossil fuel energy we would use:  Hydro energy (Along Mississippi river, major rivers and streams)  Water goes through big turbines causing them to turn, which creates electricity.  Geo thermal energy (Nevada, Oregon, Idaho, and other places with a lot of heat)  Pump large amounts of water into the earth then use the heat from the earth to create steam and to push a big turbine  Wind energy (Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, South and North Dakota, and Montana)  You put big wind plants where there is a lot of wind commonly the wind pushes the turbine making electricity  All of these generate electricity in a way that is renewable and don’t hurt the earth. ages/ /windresourcemap.PN G images.forbes.com/james conca/files/2015/11/Hydro Maps.jpg energy.org/pdf/FINALforWEB_Wh ySupportGeothermal.pdf

How to pay for it…  Award a government contract to private companies who can build a battery with a full charge up to 1000 miles.  This will solve the problem on how the government will make the battery. The company that makes the best battery will be given an exclusive contract to provide batteries to the US military. Also, they can sell these new batteries to car makers to help improve their cars.  How to help the environment  Companies that manufacture products using fossil fuels or unclean energy will be penalized by having to pay the special tax.  The first year no one pays anything. Example: 6th year would be 25%.  The money raised from this tax will be used for better research.  Companies that don’t use fossil fuels or unclean energy will be rewarded by not having to pay for the special tax.

New changes you will receive by voting for us…  Economic:  You will see the prices of electricity go down. Since there will be a lot of ways to get your power the demand will still be high, but the supply will be even higher.  Environment:  You will see less fossil fuels being used and more renewable energy instead.  Less polluted areas  Every day life:  When companies come up with how to make a better car battery that costs less, consumers and every day people will start to use electric cars instead of diesel or gasoline.

Who is involved…  We would work with the U.K., France, and Canada because they have been great allies with America.
