Vision The bid has been designed to deliver on the Olympic ideal By unlocking the UK’s unrivalled passion for sport; By delivering the best Games for athletes to compete in; By showcasing London’s unmatched cultural wealth and diversity in a great international festival of sport, arts and culture; And by creating a real and lasting legacy for London and the UK.

An Athletes Games London’s bid will deliver a world beating sporting, social and cultural experience for athletes 80% of athletes will now be within 20 minutes of their event venues and 50% of Olympic athletes will live and compete in the Olympic Park itself The Olympic Park venues will be complimented by two other Olympic Zones, The Thames Zone and the Central Zone The Athletes’ Village will be built specifically for Olympic and Paralympic athletes

Transport A London Games in 2012 will be better served by public transport than any staged previously The Olympic Park will be served by 10 rail lines £18 billion plus - will be invested in London’s public transport infrastructure Access for the disabled has also been one of our key priorities

A Sustainable London Games The London Games will also be the most sustainable Games to date Our bid is built on a coherent vision developed in conjunction with WWF - Towards a One Planet Olympics

Legacy A Community Legacy –Creation of a major new urban park in the capital –Restoration of large tracts of land in east London –New green spaces and wetlands –Building bridges between communities –Providing much needed socially diverse housing –Thousands of new jobs and important new health and educational facilities A Legacy for the Olympic Movement — A London Games will also provide a major legacy for the Olympic movement by enhancing its strong and positive reputation

Arts and Culture World Cultural Fair –A month long Olympic and Paralympic Proms hosted by the BBC –A festival of international Shakespeare productions –A Five Rings Exhibition at London museums –A five day Olympic Carnival Festival of World Youth culture –The festival will showcase the energy and creativity of London’s youth culture –Staged along the waterways, bridges and streets of the revitalised Lea Valley

A Deliverable Games A London Games will be a deliverable and financially successful Games London’s plans for 2012 are already detailed and well advanced –We have planning consent for the Olympic Park secured –Venues already under construction –Transport infrastructure in place –A funding model agreed and funds committed

Our Vision For The Visit London will be the best Candidate City in the hearts and minds of the Evaluation Commission and ranked number one in all aspects of their final report. As a result, the IOC will see London as an exceptional host city for the Olympic movement, we will be great partners in staging the Games and that we can be trusted to deliver.

Our Evaluation Commission Objectives To ensure that the members of the EC :- fully understand our proposal are convinced of our readiness and our ability to deliver understand the Olympic legacy for London have their misconceptions, misunderstandings and any concerns laid to rest are convinced that we are well-prepared, knowledgeable, responsive and enthusiastic see a total commitment to the bid from government at all levels and across the political spectrum appreciate the vibrancy of London, our passion for sport and London’s youthful, multi-cultural make-up.
