7 Looking forward – We need to define 2012 Offer– including:- Torch Relay, Children’s Festival. WEYA Festival, Ignite Programme, Sport and Leisure Programme, Parklife, Volunteer Event The Legacy - (Decade of Sport/Decade of Health) to focus on club development, increased participation in physical activity, hosting international events and a network of trained volunteers active across the City

8 What we are working towards… A comprehensive delivery plan for the Nottingham offer – (Early 2011) To include:- -Actively participating in a torch relay event within the City -Opportunities for all citizens to engage in Nottingham’s offer -A menu of activities for citizens to participate in physical activity, sport and arts and culture -Details of the legacy for Nottingham post 2012

9 2012 Olympics – We need to be realistic Growth funding for new developments on baseline service budgets for an Olympics programme will be scarce. Re-branding existing mainstreamed initiatives will be required. Sponsorship where possible and allowable will need to be sought. Partnership working is going to be required to build a strong Nottinghamshire offer.

10 Where Support might be useful Is there a need to appoint an Olympic Champion for the City of Nottingham to increase the visibility and awareness of opportunities available for the 2012 games. How best to finalise on the resources required to deliver a programme which makes an impact during the Olympic and Paralympic games 2012. How best to engage with both sporting and cultural partners to maximise the Nottingham Offer What Legacy do we wish to see from 2012 for the City.
