Online Training Modules - Process Each Training Module includes video lectures and asks students to analyze a client problem and respond to it via video. After responding to the posed problem, students review other student responses, give and get feedback, and ultimately unlock access to an expert’s answer. The course is free and open to participants in the Intramural LawMeet. The Training Modules will be available starting Feb. 1. Both required modules must be completed by Feb. 29 to compete in the Transactional Meet on March 12. An with instructions and a link to the online Training Modules will be sent on Feb. 1.

Competition Requirements Each team member must complete 2 Training Modules from Basics of Acquisitions Agreements. ▫Available Feb. 1 ▫Must complete by Feb. 29 to participate in competition ▫Anatomy of an Acquisition Agreement ▫Indemnification Each team must have at least one member attend the Contract Drafting session on Feb. 5.

Draft Scoring Criteria Both the Draft and the Mark Up will be scored on a 1-5 scale based on: ▫The team’s draft is well-presented in its appearance and free of typographical errors; ▫The team’s draft accurately reflects the objectives of the client as expressed in the client interview and Q&A; and ▫The Team’s draft represents a thoughtful approach to the issues that must be resolved in the upcoming negotiation.

Negotiation Scoring Criteria Professional Persona ▫The team would inspire confidence from a client; ▫The team garnered respect from the other side; ▫ The team was articulate; and ▫The team was professional. Understanding ▫The team understood its client’s objectives; ▫The team understood the objectives of the other party; ▫The team understood the issues in play; and ▫The team correctly prioritized the objectives and issues.

Negotiation Scoring Criteria Effectiveness ▫The team achieved (or was making progress toward achieving) a mutually satisfactory outcome that met the objectives of its client; ▫The team was creative in developing solutions to problems; ▫The team made good use of their time; and ▫The team was effective.
