3 Intramural Meet for UCLA Law Students Only
Enroll in Law 764-LEC1 1 Credit P/U Meets specific Wednesdays from (sometimes until 1:30) First class this week Open to 2L, 3L, LLM and S.JD students Competition on November 3 from 12:15-6:00 National Meet 84 teams in 7 regions of the US Students compete in a regional competition on Feb. 23, 2018 Regional winners advance to national finals on March 30, 2018 Team selected primarily by participation in Intramural Meet What is the Difference between the Intramural Meet and the National Meet?

4 Structure of Transactional Meets
Each team is provided a simulated problem Teams create a draft agreement Intramural Meet it will be specific sections of an asset purchase agreement National Meet TBD Teams Mark-up another Team’s draft agreement Teams Negotiate their agreements on the date of the competition Students receive skills training and practice Structure of Transactional Meets

11 PNM Joint Venture Team Selection Process
Students will work together in teams of 2-3 students, with at least one law student and one graduate student from either the business school or environmental design.  Students enter individually and team members will be assigned randomly.  Applications will be available this Fall Applications generally due end of January. 12 What is the PNM Challenge?
Students will perform the role of advisors for a large private equity fund sponsor considering investments in two deals and will respond to a series of questions about the deals.  No prior experience in joint venture structuring, real estate finance or similar activities necessary. Teams provided with resources to assist in evaluating the problem and volunteer “coaches” from several law firms will be available to answer questions and help teams stay on track. Competition submission due generally due end of February. What is the PNM Challenge?

Saturday, March 3, 2018 – Monday March 5, 2018

14 What is the Duberstein Moot Court Competition?
The Duberstein Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition is widely recognized as one of the nation’s preeminent moot court competitions. The competition promotes and recognizes the finest oral and written advocacy on significant issues in bankruptcy practice.   Approximately 60 law school teams participate, making this the largest single site appellate moot court competition.  It is held at St. John’s School of Law and co- sponsored by the American Bankruptcy Institute. What is the Duberstein Moot Court Competition?

Must have taken or be currently enrolled in LAW 248 Business Bankruptcy Applications available September 25 Teams will be provided with a coach mentor to assist with preparation for the competition. Duberstein Team Selection Process
