Definitions Health A range of states with physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and social components Life Management Skills The skills that help people realize his or her potential to be well and enjoy life. Infectious Diseases Diseases that are caused by infecting organisms; they can be passes from person to person

Definitions Lifestyle Diseases Diseases that are made likely by neglect of the body “When people understand that they have some control over their health, they realize that the responsibility for their health is also theirs.”

Age Chronological age Age as measured in years from date of birth Physiological Age Age as estimated from the body’s health and probable life expectancy

Conditions of Physiological Age Sleeping regularly and adequately Eating regular meals, including breakfast Engaging in regular physical activity Not smoking Not using Alcohol Keeping weight under control
