Late work Late work will not be accepted unless there are clear and compelling extenuating circumstances. If you have extenuating circumstances that prevent you from completing course assignments/exams you must contact your instructor immediately—prior to the assignment/exam/quiz due-date unless prevented from doing so by emergency circumstances.

Late work  Examples of extenuating circumstances are serious personal and/or family illness/hospitalization, death in the family, weather-related evacuation/emergencies, work emergencies, and issues related to active military assignment.  Personal computer/software/internet connectivity issues and course blocks are not considered extenuating circumstances

Late work  Granting of late-work submission due to extenuating circumstances is at the discretion of the instructor and will require documentation for verification of extenuating circumstances.  If late work submission is granted, the instructor will establish new due-dates and requirements without loss of course points

Drop box  Discussion questions are submitted within the classroom under the corresponding units  MISSED SEMINARS and PROJECTS are submitted under the course “drop box”  All work MUST BE submitted using MICROSOFT WORD…not Microsoft Works or Wordperfect  No work will be accepted via

Dimitria’s Tips  Have an opened mind! We will be discussing sensitive topics in class  Take your time…don’t try to do everything at once  DO NOT wait until the last minute to begin a project/assignment …PROCRASTINATION will HURT!!!  Spell check all of your work  Turn in ALL of your work ON TIME!!  If you have ANY questions, don’t hesitate to me!  Don’t try to do anything on your own if you don’t understand!

More tips….  READ EVERYTHING!  Get into the habit of reading the syllabus and all assignments thoroughly.  Communicate with myself and your classmates.  Answer EACH part of questions given

Dimitria’s Pet Peeves…  LATE WORK...Should I say more?  When you are ing me, don’t say, “ Sorry to bother you…” You are NOT bothering me! I am here for YOU!  In seminars, PLEASE try to stay on topic. I try to use the minute for “small talk” but after that, I AM THE STAR…(ha ha… I like attention) Don’t try to take my limelight

Dimitria’s pet peeves continued  Do NOT ask me when I will have your grades…UGH!!  ESPECIALLY after submitting late work  You took your time submitting it, so give me some time to grade it!  Grades should be officially posted 5 DAYS AFTER the end of the unit, so…  Discussion grades AND Project grades will be posted no later than Sunday after the end of the unit  Seminar grades will be posted 2 Days after the seminar (Fridays)

Dimitria’s pet peeves continued, continued  Make sure to know what chapter we are in when attending seminar  BEFORE seminar, read what will be discussed  DO NOT announce yourself if you enter seminar late, or leave early.  It is a distraction  This is not the time to give shout-outs.

Tech support  If you are having problems accessing the classroom OR seminar, please contact tech support  Please do not interrupt seminar to discuss your problems

Whew!  That’s enough, isn’t it?  Any questions??
