3 Netiquette In your seminars and discussions, please remember that this is an academic setting and you should always treat it as such. Do –Be respectful to your instructor and classmates –Keep conversations and questions relevant to the instructor-led discussion –Always use good grammar, spelling, and punctuation Do Not –Use ‘text’ speak –Use all capitals when typing –Interrupt a seminar to explain why you’re late/leaving early (you can email your instructor later if needed)

4 KAPLAN COMMITMENT First five weeks are risk-free Meet the minimum grade requirements in all classes Submit all necessary documentation to the University

5 SEMINARS Regular Weekly Seminar: Every week at same day/time with the same people Flex Seminar: Same as above, but with option to attend another section’s seminar Supplemental Seminar: ‘Extra’ and usually ungraded

6 SEMINARS Go to the KU Home page  My Classes  My Seminars  Choose the seminar you want from the list by date and time  Access Archive  Click the week you are looking to view  Load Class ***To print the transcript once it loads, you should go to the history link at the bottom of the page. The transcript will be available the morning after the seminar ends.***

7 DISCUSSION BOARDS Student participation expected Respond to all assigned questions and some classmates Discussion boards are graded Post by Thursday or Friday and on at least three different days Refrain from basic ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ answers Posts should be thoughtful and relevant to the subject matter

8 ATTENDANCE Post regular attendance and participate in classes!  Submit your first discussion post no later than Friday, and post on three separate days  Respond directly to the discussion question(s)  Read your classmates' responses and post follow- up questions or comments  Submit all papers, quizzes, exams, projects, etc. by the due date. Remember - each class week ends Tuesday at midnight (12am) Eastern.

14 REMEMBER! Complete the Orientation Course as soon as possible to make sure you’re ready for the first day of classes.  Click on the Orientation class name to open the course.  Complete all four quizzes in the classroom to complete the Orientation.  Review the Gradebook to make sure you’ve completed everything. Participate in discussions at least three days per week. Week runs Wednesday to Tuesday. You won’t be able to access your classes until the first day of the term. Start participating on Wednesday – don’t wait for a scheduled seminar. Attend your Program Kick-Off Meeting.
