6 Your Second Weekly Activity: Class Discussion Learn from the many different perspectives represented Add experiential knowledge to our course material Ask questions Get help from instructor and classmates Exchange ideas Get feedback And they are fun!

7 How To Do Well In Class Discussion Discussion Requirements:  Initial Post must be made no later than Saturday by midnight EST  Initial Discussion Post must be at least 100 words in length  Posts must be made on at least 3 different days  Respond to at least two classmates, not including the instructor  Each post should be a minimum of 5 sentences Post early and check back frequently to see if any of your classmates have responded to you or asked you a question. This is meant to create an ongoing discussion between members of the class. Try to incorporate the key terms at the end of each unit Use web based research where appropriate to make a point. Make sure to cite your references Be thoughtful, thorough, and substantive. The posts should address the Discussion questions or topics. Use Spell and Grammar Check before submitting your posts!

9 Your Third Weekly Activity: Homework Assignments Assignments must be uploaded to the Dropbox by Midnight EST on Tuesday Assignments consist of writing a paper about topics covered in the textbook. Apply the concepts and language of the course into your papers Proof, proof, proof – grammar and spelling matter Additional research may be used but must be cited at the end of your paper If something is confusing, please check with your professor

10 How to Do Well in Homework Assignments All papers must be in the APA format which includes:  A title page (title, date and your name)  The body of the paper  A references page Be sure your response adequately answers the assignment question (s) Make sure you answer ALL parts of the question. You may want to number your answers so you know you are answering each part. Be sure your Homework Assignment is well-written without spelling errors and using complete sentences Be sure your assignment is submitted to the correct Dropbox as an attachment in MS Word (.doc) format Be sure your file is named using the correct Kaplan file naming convention If something is confusing, please check with your professor

12 Your Fourth Required Weekly Activity: Reviews Multiple choice quizzes Reviews are not timed (except Unit 6 which has a 2 hour time limit) Retake the Reviews as necessary (you cannot retake the Unit 6 quiz so make sure you are 100% satisfied with your answers before submitting because you will not be able to retake it) Press the “Submit for Grade” button when you are finished and ready for your Review to be graded If you have any technical problems, call the Help Desk immediately
