 We need to make certain that you intelligent young people are ready to conquer the technological advances in course prep for classes beyond East…  There are not a lot of choices you will be offered if you don’t get some don’t get some further education… further education…

  This could be project plans in construction- -Small scale or city planning/ engineering   Factory safety plans   Production and installation of eco friendly products   Manufacturing and production of new transportation alternatives   Food distribution and health inspection   Advertisement/ printing and internet   Communication at some level without a doubt

We are going to do the first topic of the program. 1. Select: Particulate Nature of Matter. 2. Choose the interactive tutorial. Complete the worksheet that I made while you do it. 3. Now go the test. You must get 10 multiple choice questions correct before you get 3 wrong to pass.

The Interactive tutorial means just that… No matter how many times you click the arrow you must do the task first to advance the slide Fill in the accompanying worksheet, too!

One important tip: DO NOT SUBMIT UNTIL YOU HAVE ALL BOXES THAT ARE CORRECT CHECKED. Many of the questions have multiple answers.

…retake the test until you pass it. If you do not pass it in 5 tries, you must repeat the tutorial. (my teacher grade book shows records of your total tries and total completion of both the tutorial and the test.) I don’t care if you take the test 100 times. You must pass it… and you must repeat the tutorial for every 5 failures!

I can call up your class to view when you completed the tutorial, when you completed the test and how many times you tried each

You will be given 15 minutes to get a start on Chemthink. It is due in two days. The last 20 minutes will be a pre-test to compare to the post unit accessment.

Activity #1 will begin: You must complete it all before you begin with #2

You will go through each activity with an assigned partner. You will work together on one computer. All written responses will be entered and graded. We will work on this for three consecutive days starting tomorrow. Activity #2 has 3 parts to it.

Within #3 there is a lab that will be done in the classroom:

The ‘Snow Lab’ is done in the classroom. Ice is taken through the 3 phases of water and students graph and interpret data To keep this lesson on a computer/technology note, we will be collecting data using Vernier Probeware + the accompanying lab manual and plotting it is to be done on portable laptops in our chemistry room using LoggerPro software. The fourth step of the on-line segment will access laptops and probes on the fourth and fifth days

Rather than plotting collected data on LoggerPro like we have done in the past, the data will be plotted by the computer while we are doing the lab! A hard copy of the graph will be available through our server with the router

Remember that you will have to complete lab based on our IB template.

The sixth day will be a lesson analyzing the heating curve you should have gotten in the lab from activity #3

The seventh day will be an on-line assessment of their lesson that you will take with your partner.

Using this I can score answers and post comments to you via the web. The next time you sign onto the site, my comments and your grade will be visible! I control grades through an on-line grade book: Management It’s way cool for a heating curve.
