Introduction Are you in the right place? Who is your teacher? Computer Literacy credit = Graduation Lab Fee – $5.00

Classroom Rules Behaviors that negatively impact the learning environment will not be tolerated Do Not mess with the computers No Food or Drink (With exception of water) No cell phones No headphones/earbuds No hats No inappropriate language No inappropriate use of technology

Respectful Environment To maximize classroom efficiency, there must be respect at all levels As a teacher, I want nothing more than for you to be successful and the best way to be experience success is to work hard and be productive

Bell-to-Bell At Sparks High School, we work bell-to-bell What does this mean? When the bell rings to start the class, students are working on the warm-up activity which will usually be keyboarding Students are not to log-off their computers until the bell rings to end the class If a student decides to log-off his or her computer before the bell rings, that student will lose one percentage point off of their citizenship grade for every minute they are logged off Take advantage of the time we have in class

Greet the Teacher Say hello Building positive relationships with the adults in your life is important Trust me… You’ll need a favor or a break at some point

Tardy Policy You must be seated by the time the bell rings or you will be marked tardy After three tardies, the Rail Center will be notified

Place Backpacks Under Desks Nothing can hang off the chairs Nothing can be to the sides of the chairs

Log Onto Computer Enter Username and Password Change Password if prompted If you do not know your Password, let the teacher know so the issue can be resolved

Restroom and Drinks Ask to go quickly before the bell rings and you will not be marked tardy (No longer than 2 minutes) If you must go: Do not interrupt me to ask... Wait for an appropriate time You will have 4 passes to use throughout the semester so use them wisely Each unused hallway pass will count as 10 extra credit points at the end of the semester

Edmodo Go to www.edmodo.com Click on “I’m a Student” Enter Group Code – d6fqh7 Username and password must be school appropriate Fill out required information Click “Sign Up” Save your Username and Password

Keyboarding Go to www.typing.com You already have an account Click “Start Typing” You already have an account Username: shs.+first initial+last name Example: shs.cjohnson Password: railroaders Save your Username and Password

Create New Folder Go to OneDrive – Internet Explorer Click on “New Folder” Name the new folder: “Computer Literacy”

Google Go to www.google.com and create an account (If you don’t already have one) We will use Google programs throughout the course Why Google? Save your Username and Password

Evacuation Plan In case of an emergency, we will proceed to the football field as a class

Emergency Situations Code Blue Code Yellow Code Red Medical emergency Response team will be notified Code Yellow Threat close to campus Code Red Immediate threat on-campus

Printing Policies The classroom printer will only be used for academic work Students must ask teacher before printing
