STEP #1  Go to: **Apply as a new applicant**

STEP #2  Click on: “New Applicant? Create a Temporary ID and Password”  Create a 6 digit PIN Number  Confirm 6 digit PIN Number  You will be sent a temporary N-number, write it down!!!

STEP #3  Re-login with your assigned temporary N- number and the 6 digit PIN Number you created

TERM APPLYING  Indicate that you are planning on attending the summer after high school graduation  c/o 2016 the term would be “Summer 2016”  Helps chances of being accepted

FTIC  First Time In College  Although you might have dual enrollment courses, you have never graduated from high school… there for you are a “First Time In College” student

HOW MANY SEMESTER HOURS?  Select the drop down menu of how many semester hours you have completed via dual enrollment class at either FSCJ or EWC

MAJOR  Students must declare a major when applying  Can be changed later  Helps chances of being accepted

GRADUATION DATE  June 2016

IN-PROGRESS COURSES  Click Yes  You are still working toward your diploma through high school and dual enrollment courses

POST SECONDARY INFO/CREDITS  If you have taken at least ONE dual enrollment course, please select FSCJ under post secondary credits completed  UNF will request that FSCJ send your transcripts

VERIFY FLORIDA RESIDENCY  Use the information based on who claims you on their taxes  You will need 2 out of 3 documents:  Claimant’s Florida Driver’s License (number and issue date)  Claimant’s Vehicle Registration (number, original issue date)  Claimant’s Voter Registration Card (number, original issue date)  The date that you began occupying FL residency needs to be at least 14 months prior to completing the college application

STUDENTS HAVE 30 DAYS  Complete proof of residency sections  Send official ACT scores via  Send official SAT score via  Send official high school transcripts  Go to Sandalwood Guidance or Records  If applying to a FL Public College they can the transcripts to the school applying to  If applying to any other schools must print transcripts and place in a sealed envelop and the student mails the envelop to the Admissions Office  Mail Application Waiver to UNF Admissions Office/Application Fee online via creditcard

TERM TO KNOW: DEFERRED  Means the college is postponing the acceptance of the student based on any of the following: GPA ACT/SAT Scores Extracurricular Activities Essay  Simply call the admissions office and ask specifically why you have been deferred  Once you know what you need to work on, send in updated scores, GPA, etc.

JACKSONVILLE COMMITMENT SCHOLARSHIP  To be a candidate for a Jacksonville Commitment Scholarship, students must be eligible for the Free or Reduced lunch program, graduate from any Duval County public high school with a standard high school diploma, be admitted to one of the four JC postsecondary partner schools, be a Florida resident for tuition purposes, and be eligible for a Pell grant.  Begin applying now!
