Texas STaR Chart Milby High School

What is the Texas STar Chart The Teacher STaR Chart is designed to help teachers, campuses, and districts determine their progress toward meeting the goals of the Long-Range Plan for Technology, as well as meeting the goals of the district. Four Areas Covered 1.Teaching and Learning 2.Educator Preparation and Development 3.Leadership Administration and Instructional Support 4.Infrastructure for Technology

Ratings Defined 1 = Early Tech 2 = Developing Tech 3 = Advanced Tech 4 = Target Tech Goal – Reach Target Tech by the end of 2020 in compliance with TEA’s Long Range Plan for Technology (LRPT)

Teaching and Learning Developing Tech Most teachers have regular weekly access and use of technology and digital resources for curriculum in the classroom, library, or lab Most teachers use technology to support content objectives

Educator Preparation & Development Developing Tech Most teachers on campus demonstrate four SBEC Technology Applications Standards Most teachers use technology as a tool in and across content areas to enhance higher order thinking skills

Leadership Administration and Instructional Support Developing Tech Campus leadership communicates and implements a shared vision and obtains buy-in for comprehensive integration of technology leading to increased student achievement Campus discretionary funds and other resources are allocated to advance implementation of most of the technology strategies to meet the goals and objectives outlined in the Campus Improvement Plan

Infrastructure for Technology Advanced Tech Four or less students per Internet connected multimedia computer Direct connectivity to the Internet available at the campus in at least 75% of the rooms, including the library At least one technical staff to computers Dedicated computer per educator with assigned use of multimedia technologies
